Easier rail access now to Brussels Airport 26/04/12
June 10 sees the opening of a direct rail link to Brussels airport for air travellers coming from the north. The service from Antwerp Central via Mechelen will reduce the Antwerp-Brussels Airport travel time to just 30 minutes. Key feature of the link is a rail tunnel, from the Brussels suburb of Machelen to the airport terminal, which was constructed without disturbing flight operations. Despite the challenge, this five-year public-private project has been completed on schedule.
